What are the different types of print used for corrugated packaging?

The Box Factory uses three main types of print used for corrugated packaging:

  • Flexographic (Flexo)
  • Digital
  • Litho Lamination (Litho Lam)

What is flex printing for corrugated box manufacturing

Flexo printing is a very common and cost-effective printing method for corrugated packaging. It can be printed "in line" with other processes, meaning it can be done at the same time as other packaging operations.

What is digital printing when talking about box design?

Digital printing for boxes is an extremely high quality printing method and is produced "off line", meaning it is done separately from other packaging operations. The print is applied directly to the corrugated material and is usually best for small quantities.

What is Litho Lamination (Litho Lam) printing?

Litho Lam provides the highest quality print for corrugated packaging. It is printed off line directly onto coated paper, which is then laminated to a "single faced" corrugated sheet.

Which type of box printing is best for me?

The best type of print for you will depend on your specific needs, such as the quantity of packaging you need, the quality of print you require, and your budget.

  • Flexo is good for large quantities and as a cost effective option.
  • Digital printing is good for smaller quantities yet higher quality.
  • Litho Lam is the best option if you need the highest quality print possible for your packaging.
