The European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO) is a non-profit organisation representing the interests of the industry across Europe and addressing a wide range of issues, from technical topics to economic questions.
FEFCO created a recognised library of box styles that help assist packaging companies and their customers. When starting a new project always consider whether a pre-existing box style can be used or whether you need a bespoke approach from the start. The Box Factory’s team of box design experts can help when considering the best options for your product.
Industry standard box, the most common type of regular case used and often referred to as a carton. Flaps on the top and bottom which meet in the middle and require taping.
The five-panel wrap is a flat pack, suitable for packing products that are very narrow and require one or more very narrow panels.
This style of box is self-locking and when assembled forms a strong die cut box.
The codes correlate to different styles of boxes and packaging.
Get to know them and discover which one is right for your application to narrow down your search.
These standard styles are a great place to start but if you want something bespoke complete our enquiry form and we will be in touch to discuss further.
We can create bespoke packaging solutions or we can tweak FEFCO designs to suit the boxes and packaging you require.

Premium Push-Lock Presentation Box
Designed for brands that value speed, presentation, and repeat usability.
This lid makes it better for multiple uses when the box needs to be opened and closed multiple times. The fully overlapping lid also provides additional rigidity to the top panel, helping to protect products during storage and transit while maintaining a premium appearance.
Whether you're packing premium fashion items, luxury accessories, electronics, health and wellness products or subscription goods, this design delivers a bespoke presentation box that protects your products and elevates your brand.
FEFCO codes are a standardised system used to classify and identify different types of corrugated boxes and act as a universal language for understanding and communicating box designs.
FEFCO codes consist of three digits, each representing a specific aspect of the box design:
By using FEFCO codes, manufacturers, suppliers, and customers can easily communicate and understand box specifications without relying on complex descriptions or drawings.
FEFCO codes are an essential tool for anyone involved in the packaging industry. By understanding and using FEFCO codes, you can improve communication, reduce costs, and ensure that you are getting the right boxes for your products.

The push-lock base is strong for most products, but heavier loads (like six wine bottles) may require an alternative structure or additional internal fittings for extra durability. Our team can advise and design reinforced box options for higher-weight items.
Our boxes are manufactured using corrugated board that is widely recyclable and can be produced using FSC® certified materials, helping businesses meet their sustainability objectives without compromising on performance.
While the FEFCO 0215 delivers excellent presentation and usability, its structure is inherently more complex than standard shipping cartons and can result in higher material usage compared to simpler transit cartons. This is a deliberate design choice to achieve a premium finish, rapid assembly and repeat usability. Our team works closely with you to optimise board grade, layout and production runs to control cost and minimise waste wherever possible.
Unboxing is a crucial part of the customer experience. The FEFCO 0215 offers excellent flexibility for custom branding through high-quality external and internal printing. This allows you to transform a functional box into a memorable presentation piece that reinforces your brand and enhances value.
Our in-house packaging engineers are here to guide you every step of the way. We can provide structural advice, custom prototypes and performance testing to ensure your 0215 box meets all the demands of your product’s requirements. This collaborative approach ensures your packaging isn’t just functional - it’s optimised for cost, efficiency, and presentation.
